Based at the west end of Biggar’s flourishing High Street of lovely independent shops, we are happy to say that we are not just surviving but positively thriving - thanks to all our wonderful customers who have continued to support us over the last 30 (WOW) years.  We have survived many changes and challenges, most recently this global pandemic which brought the world to its knees.

We hope that readers can take comfort in books, in their favourites, in discovering something new, something to escape into and something that just might change their life.

We aim to have something for everyone; a fantastic kids section with everything from tiny tots to emerging adults; there’s science, history, art, contemporary issues;  the best in fiction, Scottish writing, nature, travel and cookery to name a few.  We have a very efficient ordering system and can source pretty much anything - we especially enjoy a challenge (you know the one, that book you heard on the radio a week ago but can’t remember the title or author!), don’t hesitate to ask.

We pride ourselves on being a dedicated bookshop but we do have some additional treats; stunning cards, wrapping paper, notebooks and bookmarks, as well as other literary gifts.
